Fishing Derby

"TAKE a KID FISHING DERBY" - FUN!!! PRIZES!!! GAMES!!!
- a catch & release event for all ages

Date: SATURDAY, JULY 10, 2010

Location: GPCA Clubhouse (Burrows Bay: south end; boat-access only)

Time: 9:00 am - 12 noon
- Meet at 9:00 am "to register" at the GPCA Clubhouse;
- Then everyone goes out to fish & brings the BIG ONES back, for judging.

Annual Family Fishing Derby 2009

Due to thunderstorms, the Fishing Derby was postponed to Saturday, August 15.  Twenty-three enthusiastic children participated in the event.  Connor T. won 1st prize with a 2lb bass.  Griffin M. won the prize for the longest fish at 9 inches and Matthew L. won the prize for the widest fish at 3.5 inches.  The prize for the most unusual fish caught in the pool was given to Zoey P. for a sponge mop head!  Prizes for the best hat category were handed out to Matthew L. and Kate G.

A hot dog lunch was enjoyed by all followed by wonderful prizes.  Draw prizes were handed out to all participants and many of the parents.
